Now Education are recruiting on behalf of a Pupil referral unit based in Liverpool.

The school caters for young people aged 13-16 and offers an alternative education pathway to those where traditional methods in mainstream schools have failed.

It prides itself on delivering an innovative and personalised curriculum.


About the role


We are seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant to work with a young person with challenging behaviour who attends the PRU.

The child can display challenging behaviour through swearing at staff.

The school is seeking a member of staff who can work on a long term and full time basis in this role and to start as soon as possible.


  • Experience supporting young people with SEND or SEMH.
  • Experience working with young people with challenging or complex behaviour.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with the student and other staff.
  • The ability to work on a 1:1 basis with students, providing motivation and support to keep them engaged in lessons and activities.


School based experience is not necessary, it could be that you have worked as a Sports coach, residential care worker, foster carer or youth worker and have an interest in Education.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a cohesive and welcoming team and support a pupil in their development and learning.


Salary:
£70.00-£80.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)
- support: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:
- enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred)
