The role


The post-holder will work within the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) Student Experience team, alongside the Student Experience Managers (SEM), supporting them to fulfil their roles effectively.

The Academic Coordinators will therefore need to establish strong and effective working relationships within multiple teams in a virtual setting, understanding and welcoming diversity in all forms, to be successful in the role.


Main duties will include:

  • Work closely with SEMs to plan for Academic Lectures (AL) development events on all modules and presentations by liaising with Academic Lectures to agree dates and times for each event.
  • Provide support for SEM meetings, including coordinating Career development and staff appraisals (CDSA) between SEMs and ALs they line manager, providing further guidance where required on processes and procedures.
  • Triage queries in University's Customer Relationship Management system and/or the team mailboxes to ensure that all Service Requests are responded to on time. Support SEM's by assisting their investigation of any queries or complaints within a timely manner, recording outcomes and updating VOICE, as required.
  • Support SEMs in planning, organising, and running events across the academic year; before, during and after the events.
  • Provide dedicated support to SEMs on wider continuous improvement /scholarship projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a team.
  • Experience of planning and organising one's own work as well as wider team resources, demonstrating initiative and dealing with multiple tasks in parallel
  • Pressure and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Experience of organising meetings and events using Teams.
  • Experience of working with large amounts of data and creating databases or dashboard to best display and communicate key information.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, and experience of using a variety of communication methods across a range of stakeholders or teams.
