We deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where we also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our
Glasgow Bakery on Duke Street to join the
hygiene team.


At Hovis we make bread and other bakery products, so we have to make sure that everything is kept clean and is done in the most hygienic way.

The machines and product area needs to be kept clean.

This is the responsibility of the
Hygiene Team; it is in this team that we are looking for our newest members.

What will you do?_**- You will be responsible for ensuring that the site, machines and production work areas are kept clean.

The work is physical industrial cleaning

  • Be on hand to ensure that any spillages are cleaned up quickly and to a high level of cleanliness.
  • Ensure that all equipment such as the bakery delivery trays are clean and in the right areas to be refilled.
  • Be our first line of defence. See it is not only us that love bread; there are other animals that love it as well. So you understand why we have to keep the place clean. So seeing and reporting any little evidence of them is really important.

What do you need to have?_**- Experience of working within a similar environment

  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Good Understanding of manufacturing processes on site
  • Good understanding of hygiene processes on site
  • Good understanding of site audit requirements
  • Good understanding of COSHH requirements
  • Current forklift licence (an advantage)
  • Pest control knowledge
  • You will need to be physically fit
  • Willing to take pride in your job
  • Be able to work the days and hours associated with the role
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Communication skills

Full-time, Permanent

Start time and hours: 7am - 3.30pm (paid 8 hrs with 30min break)

Days worked:

The working pattern is essentially Monday to Saturday

You get 1 day off in the week and 1 in every 6 Saturdays off

No working on a Sunday.

Salary:
£21,205.00
