About Us:

Play your part in achieving a cleaner, greener, safer borough
In Kensington and Chelsea, we want residents, businesses and visitors to benefit from cleaner, greener and safer streets. Street Enforcement Officers play a vital role in tackling environmental crime and antisocial behaviour.

We'll be making it easier for people to report issues, and equipping each officer with the knowledge and powers they need to tackle antisocial behaviour and enforce regulations against environmental crime.

The Role:

Bring us a good attitude to customer service and a willingness to learn, and we'll provide you with all the training and support you need to make a difference to the local community.

As a Street Enforcement Officer, you'll patrol your neighbourhood, either alone or with another officer, getting to know the local people and their issues.

Every day is different but you will be spending most of your time out of doors and on your feet.

You will carry out a wide variety of street-based enforcement and engagement work.

This could include investigating illegally dumped rubbish and litter, street begging, busking, illegal street trading, identifying abandoned bicycles, engaging with rough sleepers.

It's a uniformed role so you'll be highly visible, deterring crime and antisocial behaviour and serving fixed penalty notices but also educating and influencing people about the impact their actions can have.

About You:

You're a people-person with a can-do attitude who enjoys talking to the public. You have the ability to engage respectfully with individuals from all kinds of backgrounds and remain calm under pressure. You must be able to record information, gather evidence and write brief reports. Flexibility about working hours is important as we provide seven-day cover 7.00am to 11.00pm. You'll join a rota of three shifts a day mornings, afternoons and lates. You must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
