Description

The renal department is a busy supra-regional unit.

There are 10 SHOs, who are well supervised at middle grade level by 8 clinical SpRs and 2 research SpRs; and at senior level, with 12 wte consultant nephrologists and 5 visiting renal transplant surgeons.

The consultants have a particular interest in postgraduate training and teaching, and trainees have an excellent track record of obtaining places on Deanery training programmes.

The on-call rota is 1 in 10 with prospective cover and meets EWTD criteria.
