Simpson Judge are working with a profitable manufacturer based in Haydock, the company have grown significantly, have ambitious plans and are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller.

This is a newly created role and will look after a c.£30m division, manage a small team, oversee the Finance function and provide support to the CFO & Managing Director.

There will be hybrid working and travel to another site required once a week.


Responsibilities:


  • Financial control and reporting, interrogating and understanding the numbers
  • Managing, motivating, and developing the Finance team
  • Ensuring month end and year end reporting deadlines
  • Posting journals
  • Annual budget preparation, review & action improvements with operational managers
  • Responsible for all tax requirements, including PAYE and VAT
  • Main point of contact for external auditors. Ensure the audit is completed efficiently within agreed timescales
  • Business partnering with Managing Director to support business growth

Requirements:


  • Strong Financial & Management Accounting experience
  • Commercially aware
  • Excellent attention to detail & communication skills
  • Team management experience
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Strong IT skills
