The University seeks to recruit a new strategic member of its team in the role of Head of Procurement. The post is a strategic role supporting the Director of Finance, delivering the agreed University Strategic Procurement Strategy.

Also, to work with the University Leadership Team (ULT), Directors of Professional Services, Executive Deans and other Senior Managers across the University to deliver critical and high value projects aligned to the University's very demanding Strategic Plan & Vision BU2025.

The central Procurement team supports the organisation in delivering sustainable value for money across all purchases.

Procurement is an increasingly critical function, helping us to ensure that every penny we spend is spent wisely and has demonstrable returns.

We work with our colleagues around the University to ensure that our suppliers and their supply chains are competitive, sustainable and ethical and help underpin our organisational values and objectives.


This is a Central Procurement role to provide strategic leadership on all major procurement projects, agreeing supply chain strategies, managing complex procurement processes to achieve outstanding value propositions.

To Lead, manage and co-ordinate the functions of an effective and efficient Procurement Team, including category management, contract management and supplier management.

Ensuring value for money, mitigation of risk and effective use of resources in accordance with the University's Sustainable Procurement Policy across a range of goods, services and works projects are maintained.


To ensure that the University operates in full compliance with all Public Procurement Regulations 2015 including the Public Supplies, Services & Works Directives governing public procurement across the UK.

This role requires proven experience in managing both Procurement and cross functional teams in a large organisation.

This coupled with your ability to work with and influence different groups of people and differing key objectives related to the Universities Strategic Plan & Vision BU2025 will be what sets you apart.
