Purchasing & Production Planner required, Wellingborough based Company, Permanent opportunity, Monday to Friday working with an early Friday finish. Salary £30k - £35k DOE


We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchasing & Production Planner to work with our well established company based on Park Farm in Wellingborough.

This is an office based role, however there could be the opportunity to work from home on some occasions.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the key elements of the role as a Purchasing & Production Planner will be the planning of production and the purchasing of all raw materials and consumables for the business.

This will involve the following,

Responsible for the Co-ordination of materials and planning production runs in line with the production requirements.
Communicating & negotiating directly with suppliers to procure all materials to fulfil customer demands and expectations.
Be actively involved with new product development to ensure the availability of all raw materials for accurate costings
Establish production priorities, monitor progress and revise production schedules as and when required
Create production paperwork for key departments in line with production plans
To be able to use and manage various data management tools to ensure production planning data is accurately reported back to the Production Manager
Report key performance indicators to the production Manager
The creation of vehicle stacking and loading plans.


To be considered for this role you will have previously worked in a planning position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

To have a background of Production scheduling and planning of at least 2 years is a prerequisite.

You will have an excellent understanding of logistics warehousing and stock controls, plus be able to demonstrate a track record of managing business demands.

These requirements will be made up from the following skills and attributes

Have extensive knowledge and understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
Experienced user of Microsoft package
Have the ability to prioritise and have excellent time management skills
Be able to adapt to switching between tasks efficiently
Have excellent organisational skills and have an eye for detail
Be passionate about continuous improvement and the desire to learn.
Have a very methodical approach to day to day duties.
A current passport is required as there may be some European and Worldwide travel.


You will be joining a well established award winning company who are very innovative and eco-friendly with the products that they manufacture.

Working hours are 08:00 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 13:00 on Friday.
