Description

A great opportunity to join a leading international manufacturer of aerospace finished components as an Estimator.

What you'll be doing:

Provide an estimating service to the customer for tactical work opportunities
Oversee the preparation and compilation of estimates for new business in response to requests for proposals
Evaluation and analysis of customer datasets, specifications and condition of supply documentation in order to identify the need for raw material, bought out and sub contract requirements
Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams in order to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers
Present bids to customers and potential customers, explain costing principles and sell the organisation's capability and competitiveness
Handover of successful new work packages to the Engineering team explaining bid assumptions and proposed manufacturing strategy

Skills helpful for the role:

Experience in estimating
A manufacturing engineering background
Ability to understand technical drawings and BoM's and extract the relevant processes and materials for quotation and being able to contract a structured quotation from this information
Knowledge of the various manufacturing processes, machining, fabrications, treatments and welding for example
