The Opportunity:

The Global Purchasing/Procurement Strategy Team are part of the Jaguar Land Rover Global Purchasing function.

The Global Purchasing/Procurement Strategy Teams manage the interface between the teams delivering JLR's vehicle programmes and global manufacturing programmes, in the early strategy development phase.

Delivery and Launch phases of the programmes/projects fall under the management of another department.
Jaguar Land Rover manage the delivery of new vehicle and business programmes through multifunctional/multi activity frameworks.

Global Purchasing Strategy ensure that Purchasing tasks and plans are delivered as part of these overall frameworks, ensuring Gateways are successfully passed for Strategy phase.


WHAT TO EXPECT

The Role:


Being part of a team who act as the voice and conscience of Purchasing/ Procurement in cross functional reviews/meetings supporting programme development, launch lifecycle of the Global Jaguar Land Rover Product portfolio and Global growth.

You will be responsible for communicating the wants and needs of the global Vehicle Programme Architecture Teams to determine how these can be best met by the Global Supplier network.

This will be achieved through close alignment and communication with Global Indirect & Production Purchasing, and the Business Office Teams.

You will be responsible for following the defined processes and continuous improvement activities within Programme Management Teams.
You will support the transformation of programme inputs and requirements into key deliverables for Purchasing/. Procurement

Working closely with cross functional Programme team to develop and refine schedules, you will be responsible for ensuring processes deliver to cost, quality, delivery, innovation and sustainability targets.

Many of the processes are cross functional and will require close working and enterprise leadership with your co-workers and colleagues across the team/s to ensure repeated success.

You should seek to continuously understand and improve yours and others levels of core competence in the business for the Purchasing/ Procurement Strategy Team.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience Required:

Essential

Proven experience in workload planning and execution management experience with demonstrable evidence of successful delivery in challenging cross functional environments.

Able to facilitate resolution of complex cross-functional issues via proven problem solving methods and skill set
Organised with excellent time management skills
Strong Influencing & Negotiation skills

Clear understanding of how to facilitate cross functional team to meet objectives with experience of working in teams and/or experience of relationship management.

Full UK Driving License.

Desirable
Previous experience of relationship management within global cross functional teams would be desirable
Professionally qualified, i.e. educated to Degree, MCIPS or Professional Programme Management level with a proven track record in a Purchasing, Cost Management, Programme Management or complex business environment
Computer literate
Exposure to SAP/ other ERP/MRP systems. Intermediate to Advance user of Microsoft Office.
