We are looking to appoint a number of experienced clinicians to roles within our medicines management governance team with drive and aptitude to become part of a dynamic and developing Pharmacy Team.

These posts are open to all staff who work within the Medicines Management Team and meet the essential criteria.


You will join our dynamic, Trust wide medicines management governance team in providing medicines optimisation, medicines governance oversight, quality improvement and support safe use of medicines across the Trust.


We're currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation within Pharmacy to facilitate improvements in our medicines safety, medicines governance and assurance oversight.


The Medicines Optimisation Lead will work closely with the Medicines Information Team within medicines governance reporting to the Medicines Management Quality and Governance Group and ultimately to the Drug and Therapeutics Committee on issues relating to medicines optimisation.

Shortlisting date is planned for 21st June 2023

Interview date is planned for 29th June 2023


The Medicines Optimisation Lead will oversee key areas within medicines governance in the Trust including medicines information, audit, medicines procedures and antimicrobial resistance.

You will be joining the medicines management governance team consisting of experienced pharmacy clinicians.

You will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver support for the management of medicines incidents within the Trust, with a focus on supporting mental health services.


You will have the opportunity to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas in a large organisation but as part of smaller supportive medicines management teams.

You will be supported in ongoing studies relevant to the role.


You will be expected to co-ordinate work plans, oversee medicines governance activities, write reports, attend key internal and external meetings and lead meetings that are relevant to your role.

Our inpatient services cover a wide geographical area across a large proportion of the North-West providing specialist care including; Secure Services located in Maghull health park, Whalley, Hollins Park and Rathbone site, Non-Secure Services located in Broadoak, Clock View, Hartley Hospital, Knowsley and Peasley, Hollins Park, Windsor House, Fern ward, Heys Court, Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Hope Centre and Longmoor intermediate care reablement unit.
