Laboratory Chemist

Salary:
£22k - £27k p/annum (dependant on experience)

Benefits: 23 days plus bank holidays, 4% company pension, 3 x Death in Service benefit and bonus

Hours:
Rotating shifts of 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday. Shifts alternate weekly and overtime is available during busy periods, paid at enhanced rates.

The role

REED Scientific are recruiting for a shift based QC Laboratory Chemist for our client who is a Chemical Manufacturer. The vacancy has come about due to an internal promotion.

Performance is rewarded and as a Laboratory Chemist you will have the opportunity to move into a Senior Chemists position, or to move into the Quality team.

You will be given the opportunity tolearn new analytical techniques and to learn from and work beside a very experienced Laboratory Manager.

Responsibilities:

Analyses of samples according to company procedures using methods such as HPLC and GC.
Method development and validation
Assist in solving problems that require analytical expertise
Complete and maintain all required documentation
Work according to ISO 9001 quality guidelines, and meet all agreed time frames.
Follow all health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean laboratory environment.

Qualifications, experience and skills required

Hands on experience of HPLC, GC and any other analytical techniques is essential
Knowledge of ISO9001, GMP and GLP
A willingness to learn is essential
Be a logical thinker who enjoys problem solving
Have good numeracy and analytical skills
Be a team player
Be computer literate (experience in database or ERP systems desirable)
