Org Marketing Statement

At our Milton Keynes manufacturing facility, we are looking for a Buyer who will lead crucial procument activitues within the Business Unit, working closely with suppliers to ensure the business unit has the product it needs to operate efficiently and effectively. The role holder will need to be organised, structured and proactive.

Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with our suppliers to ensure we have the components/material available for the Business Unit to operate effectively
  • Dealing with supplier issues, working alongside the Supplier Quality Engineer to resolve issues to ensure we have a suitable supply of components and materials
  • Actively involved in meeting our procurement KPI's
  • Managing procurement orderbooks (accounts)
  • Be able to communicate the current procurement status for the respective stakeholders
  • Engage in the planning and execution of new projects
  • Be able to make strategic decisions from a procurement perspective
  • Work closely with our site planning team to ensure components and materials arrive when they are required
  • Be involved in business improvement (i.e. Lean, Kaizen etc.) activities.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


  • Proactive can do focused attitude
  • Strong Customer focus both internally and externally facing
  • Strategic approach
  • Exposure to lean working and continuous improvement
  • Analytical and practical approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrate leadership skills promoting positive change improvements
  • Ideally to hold recognised qualifications in procurement (i.e. CIPS) and/or relevant HNC/HND or working towards.
