We are strengthening our Dealing team and have created an exciting opportunity.

Reporting directly to the Group Treasurer, you will have a key role in supporting with the management of the Society's liquidity portfolio and the Society's derivative portfolio.

You will also work closely with our Products team, helping price new mortgage and savings products, and managing tranches throughout the product lifecycle.

You will be joining the Dealing team, consisting of 3 other colleagues.

The Dealing team works closely with the Products team and other areas of Finance, helping to price new mortgage and savings products for our Members, managing the liquidity portfolio and interest rate risk.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Be responsible for supporting with the day to day management of the Society's £6bn liquidity portfolio, entering into the purchase/sale of securities.
  • Be responsible for having a clear understanding of the assets held in the liquidity portfolio at all time; their performance and the risks of holding such assets.
  • Be responsible for supporting with the day to day management of the Society's interest rate risk.
  • Be responsible for supporting with the management of the c.£30bn derivatives portfolio.
  • Be responsible for considering new mortgage and savings business hedging profiles.
  • Be responsible for working with the Products team, keeping them abreast of changing market dynamics, assisting with the pricing of new mortgage and savings products and then the tranche management through the lifecycle of bringing products to market.
  • Identify market opportunities and propose opportunities to Group Treasurer and Senior Treasury Dealers.
What Do We Need From You?

  • Strong knowledge of liquidity, wholesale and derivative instruments used by UK building societies.
  • Strong knowledge of market risk, liquidity risk and wholesale credit risk management regulatory requirements and techniques.
  • Experience of dealing in a Treasury environment, including knowledge of Treasury dealing systems.
  • Experience in communicating to senior management, making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Experience of reporting, analysing and communicating on areas of risk, highlighting areas of concern and making relevant proposals.
