Description

The Company:

We are working with a leading contractor whose North West Regional Office has created an excellent reputation for delivering interesting projects for leading blue chip clients valued to £40 Million.

They have excellent relationships with their clients that means they enjoy a good proportion of repeat, negotiated business and are members of a number of key public sector procurement frameworks.

Their senior management team are dynamic, knowledgeable and very approachable.

They are a real North West success story who have grown consistently over the last 5 years despite COVID's influence and already have a strong pipeline of work for 2023 and beyond in markets that are unlikely to be significantly affected if there is a downturn in the Construction Sector.

They typically make double digit margins on projects.

The Role:

Due to planned expansion they would like to recruit a Design Coordinator who would work alongside an experienced Design Manager who would work with clients, appoint and work with design consultants, organised and chair design meetings though RIBA Stages 0 - 4 or 5.

The initial project you would work on is a £30 Million healthcare scheme that uses Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) due to start on site in Spring 2023.

You will help to project manage the design process.

Working alongside a Design Manager you will be tasked with controlling design activity on projects through the pre-construction and delivery phases.

You will provide advice on design risk and discuss opportunities for value engineering to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.

Once projects are on site you will ensure the delivery team are working to the design specifications.

You:

You will help to project manage the design process so someone who has site experience gained in an Engineering or Management role or someone already working as a Design Coordinator/Assistant Design Manager would have the skills and experience needed to be successful in this role.

You will be based in or be able to commute to Cheshire daily (the role is largely office based with site visits and home working is available and encouraged where practical).

You will have an understanding of value engineering.

IT literate.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Rewards:
You will receive a good salary and benefits package.

You will be working with a company who are a recognised market leader in their sectors and who can provide a challenging and supportive environment in which to work.

It is envisaged that the successful person can quickly take on additional responsibility with career development and progression opportunities readily available.
