Our client is seeking a full time Finance Assistant to assist the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance with regular financial requests.


  • First point of contact for transactional queries relating to bookings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working within the controlling team, delivering high levels of service to Retail and Head Office teams.
  • Superuser of reservation system to deal with financial queries on bookings and gift lists.
  • Assisting retail staff with failed customer credit card payments to ensure processed and allocated appropriately.
  • Allocation of customer/agent payments to bookings made directly to company bank account.
  • Process daily customer refunds and exgratia customer service refunds.
  • Dily banking allocation and categorisation of funds.
  • Assist with allocation and refund of gift list funds and requests from the gift list team.
  • Produce weekly agent statements and ensure payments/refunds are made and allocated.
  • Maintain finance mailboxes to ensure internal and external stakeholders receive high standard of service and actions taken on requests.
  • Chasing of cash/debt collection from both direct clients and agents to ensure mínimal bad debt.
  • Allocate miscellaneous banking through regular journals.
  • Assist the accurate reporting of the sales ledger and retail control ledger accounts and take action on bookings to rectify differences found.
  • Completion of journals to facilitate accurate financial reporting at month / year end.
  • Assist Financial Accountant in producing evidence during audit fieldwork at year end reporting.
  • Assistance with generation and data entry for annual HMRC submissions (P11d, PSA) and monthly/quarterly ONS submissions.
  • Submission of ABTA and CAA monthly/quarterly returns.
  • Offer support to Financial Accountant/Head of Finance on adhoc finance requests.
  • Completion of monthly General Ledger Journals and Reconciliations.

Person Specification:


  • Ideally working towards an accountancy qualification
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build strong relationships other staff
  • The ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong IT Skills and ability to use multiple different systems
  • Working towards accountancy technician qualification (AAT or equivalent)
  • Cando attitude with willingness to learn new skills
  • Willingness to pick up additional adhoc tasks as requested
  • Acute attention to detail to ensure actions taken are timely and accurate
  • Problem Solver

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
