Description
Applications are invited for the post of Registrar (ST3+) in Paediatrics. The successful applicant will work on a shift system but have a nominated consultant.

Wherever possible the timetable aims to provide continuity of Registrar medical staff, although there may be occasions where the On-Take commitment and the junior doctor's requirement may lead to alternative arrangements͘.

The paediatric department provides a comprehensive range of paediatric and neonatal services for the district. The maternity unit, general paediatric wards and neonatal intensive care unit are all based at the Basildon Hospital site. The Outpatients clinics are also done at Orsett Hospital.

It's geographical position and the strength and commitment of its consultant establishment gives it excellent prospects for further expansion in the region.

Situated in the South East of England, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally placed offering easy access to the Channel Tunnel, London and the national motorway network via the M25.

Including this post, there are 10 hospital-based Paediatricians. Many patients have shared care, particularly those with special needs or child protection issues.
