Eden Brown Synergy are working with a local authority based in the home counties who have an exciting new vacancy for a Sustainable Supply Chain Policy and Project Lead.


This new post will develop and lead the council's ambition to work with their supply chain to ensure the purchase of goods and services aligns with their net zero and wider environmental ambitions and supports a more inclusive economy for Oxfordshire.


Based in the Procurement and Contract Management Team, working closely with the Climate Action Team, this new post will lead the development of the council's approach to reducing its supply chain emissions.

Working with council officers and suppliers you will develop policies and tender specifications and advice that reduce the councils supply chain emissions and improve resilience.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a supply chain emissions reduction strategy supporting the council's Corporate Strategy commitments on climate action (including wider elements of environmental policy as council policy develops).
  • Work with councillors, supply chain partners and officers to determine overall council policy, sciencebased targets on supply chain emissions and related work streams.
  • Work with the Carbon Analyst in the climate team to target and continually improve reporting of scope 3 emissions from suppliers
  • Implement specific training for category managers and services in delivering low carbon contracts in key buying areas
