We are currently looking to recruit a professional, customer focused and responsive HR Consultant to join our team.


Reporting to the Head of Workforce, the post holder will partner with the directorate leadership team enabling them to shape, translate and implement the wider people agenda, ensuring the provision of a quality people solutions, aligned and responsive to the needs of our services and supporting our staff to deliver the best patient centred care.


Main Duties:

Working in an HR Consultant role you will advise and provide proactive support to managers and services in meeting operational and organisational objectives, through:
Consistently thinking about how their work can help and support clinicians and frontline staff deliver better outcomes for patients.

Proactively work with managers to put plans in place to resolve areas of concern and/or manage risks, ensuring delivery of national and local HR performance targets

Provide, monitor and analyse workforce information reports for the directorate, highlighting areas for concern

Support the directorate to complete workforce plans which are linked to the Trust Strategic objectives and People Plan


To work with the Resourcing team to ensure specific recruitment campaigns in line with workforce plans and ensure effective communication of redeployed staff.

Ensure appropriate induction arrangements are in place across the Directorate.


In partnership with the Deputy and Divisional Head of Workforce analyse and interpret staff survey results and support directorate to develop action plans through 'Time to Talk' Sessions.


To support the Divisional Head of Workforce in the provision of a consistently high quality comprehensive service to the Division / Directorate, whilst assisting with the effective resourcing, management and development of the Directorates' workforce in support of its operational goals.


  • To support organisational change initiatives which are crucial for the development of the Directorate / wider Division.
  • To operate as a knowledgeable practioner providing expert advice on all HR matters, in particular employment law and good HR practice, providing a point of contact for all employment related queries within the Directorate, identify opportunities where HR can add value especially where significant performance improvement or change management activities are being undertaken.
  • Coach and develop line managers to effectively fulfil their people management responsibilities particularly in relation to case management, advice and guidance in respect of disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management. Develop relationships both internally and externally, particularly collaborative partnerships with Trade Unions.
