Description

As part of the development of our new Crisis Response Unit Service (CRU), we are looking to implement a Band 6 Professional.

The role will predominantly involve the co-ordination of the CRU Service. _

  • The NHS Long Term Plan requests that all systems have access to an improved emergency response for mental health in conjunction with the existing emergency services. It is accepted that a large proportion of conveyance to or attendance at Emergency Departments could be avoided in the community with a more timely response by existing mental health crisis services. We also believe that a more local response to individual crisis would see service users supported much closer to their homes in more appropriate pathways and alternatives to existing crisis locations. This will be a service that can respond to community emergencies within 1 hour rather than the current 4 hour response._
