  • Make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
  • By supporting children and young people who are in care, care leavers, and children involved in child protection conferences, you would be part of a team delivering a specialist service who are dedicated and committed to helping children.
  • The Children's Rights and Advocacy Service are looking to recruit an additional worker to join their statutory team.
  • We are seeking to appoint someone who has experience of supporting children and young people and can demonstrate their ability to work as part of a team.
  • There will be opportunities to develop knowledge and understanding of the legislation, policies and procedures that protect and promote the rights of children and young people in care, and care leavers.
  • Advocates represent children and young people, support them to navigate systems, and empower them to speak up and be heard.
  • Advocates work in the front line delivering positive outcomes for those they support.

The role includes:


  • Supporting and enabling children and young people's understanding of their rights and options to help them make informed decisions.
  • Empowering individuals to communicate their views, wishes, and feelings, and participate in decision making processes.
  • Supporting children and young people to make challenges or representations when necessary, including asking pertinent questions on their behalf.
  • We are seeking applicants with the required skills, and similar previous experience; however additional relevant training will be provided.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.- We offer flexible working hours to meet the needs and demands of the service, which will include occasional weekend and evening work.
