A highly regarded, top 100 law firm is currently looking for a Family Associate to join their team in London.
Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the Family team, fostering an effective working environment, and providing support to Senior Associates and Partners on more complex matters as needed.
- Attend internal and relevant technical training programs to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
- Participate in team meetings and continuously develop technical expertise.
- Stay informed about legal markets, especially those related to Family work.
- Work collaboratively within the Family team, addressing national and international matters, including divorce, financial disputes, matrimonial arbitration/mediation, prenuptial agreements, child arrangement agreements, and child abduction cases.
- Ensure the achievement of key financial targets, including fees, contributions, and payment of debts and disbursements.
- Maintain accurate data on case management systems and the firm's intranet.
- Monitor personal performance in terms of live files, file closures, file openings, billing, and time recording, taking appropriate action to meet targets.
- Take responsibility for delivering service to clients, upholding the highest standards of client care to encourage repeat business and recommendations.
- Assist with marketing and business development initiatives, such as writing for enewsletters and attending seminars.
- Qualified Family Solicitor (36 years PQE)
- Previous experience in divorce, matrimonial finance disputes, prenuptial agreements, Children Act, matrimonial arbitration/mediation, and cohabitation disputes.
- Knowledge of general familyrelated legislation and relevant case law.
- Effective time management skills to meet client and internal deadlines.
- Team player with the capability to support other Senior Associates and Partners.
- Confident Excel skills for reviewing relevant matters.
- Competent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Digital Dictation, and Axxia.
- Ability to draft documentation with attention to detail.
- Effective communication with clients, in writing, over the telephone, and in meetings.
- Ability to convey technical legal information in an effective and accessible manner.
