Global Cyber Security's role is to inspire trust and confidence in our customers by enabling a secure connected future for our customers and society.

Our purpose is to proactively protect Vodafone & its customers by reducing the risks posed by security threats to Vodafone's global technology infrastructure and the sensitive data it holds.

In Cyber Prevent (CP), the Cyber Senior Technical Platform Designer will work closely alongside the Cyber Security Programme Managers and Security Architects and our platform vendors to ensure we get the best from our technologies.

Collectively they will work to define, and implement, the global Cyber Security & Cyber Prevent strategies in Vodafone's chosen cyber tooling.

Their work will be to ensure cyber security technologies within Cyber Prevent are globally consistent; effective and efficient; have the right technical adequacy and coverage to deliver the optimum risk reduction effect.

Maximising the functionality, we use of these cyber security platforms will continue to drive cyber security risk reduction, for Vodafone and its customers.


The Senior Technical Designer will be a key technical authority for Cyber Prevent, particularly as the technical design authority for the Cyber Prevent platforms focusing on Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Virus and Employee Information Protection.

They will work with our Cyber Prevent Operations and Development teams, wider Vodafone technology teams and our key external partners and use their understanding of technologies such as the Microsoft Defender suite to establish the right control environment.

They will own our CP domain platform strategies & functionality roll-out plans. They will act as a technical lead through Cyber Prevent's complex technical programs and support market rollouts.

The Senior Technical Designer will be required to operate effectively in a complex, dynamic, and changing environment. Active & compelling engagement of teams and stakeholders will be crucial.

This role will require a leader who is a highly effective communicator and collaborator to deliver the consistency & risk reduction outcomes required.

The Senior Technical Designer will act as an ambassador for Global Cyber Security and the Cyber Code within the business.

They will be advocates and role models for security best practice & consistency in approach when working with Vodafone colleagues worldwide.

With us you will:


  • Support all Cyber Prevent platform teams as technical design authority. Provide technical leadership and oversight of all major change programs.
  • Working with the Cyber Prevent Leadership team to define, and implement Vodafone's Cyber Security.
  • Leverage deep platform expertise to deliver maximum risk reduction
  • Leadership of the technical design and implementation of platforms in Cyber Prevent to the optimal posture.
  • Act as the platform authority, closely working with the SBD team, to define and lead Cyber Prevent's technology strategy and rollout roadmap.
  • Management of large security vendor financial and operational relationships.
  • Liaising with Cyber Security Risk, Control & Compliance to ensure that the Cyber Prevent roadmap is always aligned to Vodafone's risk mitigation strategy with optimal risk reduction outcomes.
  • Acting as an ambassadors and role models for Global Cyber Security advocating for security best practice, consistency in approach.
  • Professional experience in cyber security technical design and architecture.
  • Track record of delivering cyber strategies in a complex & dynamic technology environment.
  • Personal experience and judgement to be able to determine the right technical treatment of cyber security platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to inform effective data driven decisions on service improvement & risk reduction
  • Ability to create strong virtual & matrixed teams across all Vodafone global entities. Creating coaching and learning environments. Knowing when to offer support to others and when to take personal accountability.
  • Highly effective collaboration across globally dispersed teams in order to deliver the consistency, and risk reduction, outcomes required.
  • Active & compelling engagement of people and stakeholders, across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, up to and including board level.
  • Communicating & reporting concise summaries of complex scenarios & information across diverse and senior stakeholder groups.
