Purpose of the Role


This exciting remote based Systems Support Consultant opportunity has arisen to join our IT Operations team to work closely with project teams within Ardonagh supporting Systems Projects with our partner brokers in order for them to achieve optimum use of their broking system and meet with their regulatory and business requirements and achieve best practice.

The role will work with existing and new members as well as start ups to assist them adopt a Broking platform (Open GI or Acturis).

You will be involved in projects with software houses to ensure satisfactory system implementation to ensure Go Live dates are met.


What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more

  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the 2 strategic broking platforms (Acturis and Open GI) whilst keeping in touch with industry knowledge of other broking platforms e.g. SSP and Applied.
  • Provide industry knowledge and technical systems expertise to assist brokers in improving their system to maximise productivity and revenue, working with the member to improve their processes, increasing their profitability.
  • Assist in developing and managing software house relationships.
  • Provide onsite consultations for System Health checks, identifying requirements for training and opportunities for further consultancy services.
  • Provide onsite or remote consultancy assistance as required from System Health check output.
  • Working with New Members and Start Up business in the adoption of their broking platform. Working with the member and the software house to ensure key project deliverables and deadlines are hit and the project is delivered in a timeline fashion and adopting Broker Networks blueprint way of working.
  • Supporting businesses through system change, working alongside the software houses ensuring a smooth transition from existing system and minimising disruption to the business.
  • Effectively work with other teams, (including Client Money, Agency, MI, Finance, Integration Team) to problem solve and ensure a fully aligned services for Members.
  • Leading in the delivery of project work in order to support the Systems Consultancy Manager, Head of IT and other members of the management team as required.

Who we are looking for


This is an opportunity for an experienced insurance Systems Consultant who is willing work as part of a team and manage stakeholders at all levels.


We are looking for someone has/is:

  • Experience of working in the Insurance industry and in particular with broking systems (ideally OpenGI, Acturis, Applied TAM or SSP).
  • Good understanding of the broking environment and processes.
  • Good technical knowledge with ability to learn new systems with ease.
  • Experience of good working relationships with software houses and customers.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Technically competent and has presence to quickly create credibility amongst senior stakeholders.
  • Effective team player but also able to selfmotivate and operate independently.
  • Uses initiative and drive to navigate both internally and externally to get things done.
  • Highly organised, good attention to detail and works with pace
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to learn
The role may also require you to visit broker partner locations across the UK as required.
