We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join a well established Children's Residential care home based in Halesowen.

This is a specialist 3 bed service supporting children aged 8-18 with EBD.


The role of the Deputy Manager is to assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the operational activities within the service in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.

To fulfil all duties and responsibilities of a Registered Manager in theirabsence, as required by the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015, company policies and procedures, and OFSTED inspection framework.


You will also lead a residential staff team, undertaking the core tasks within the remit of the home to provide for the physical, health, emotional and social needs of the young people looked after, whilst preparing, enabling, and assisting them to fulfiltheir individual care plans.

Safeguarding children and vulnerable people is a priority for all employees.


All applicants must:

  • Have 3 years' experience in residential children's home with a minimum 1 year in a senior post
  • Have experience of working with Children/Young people in a similar setting, and with other Care
Professionals and partner agencies.

  • Have experience of working in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Have a good understanding of the Children Act , Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and SCCIF
  • Have NVQ level 3/4 Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Have a full Driving Licence
  • Have good level of numeracy, literacy, IT
  • Have good written/verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to deal with stressful, difficult, and challenging situations appropriately and effectively
  • Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Be at least 21 years of age, and at least 4 years older than the oldest young person accommodated in the home.
