The Role:
The Malton Manufacturing Hub specialises in producing high quality components, fabrications and electro/mechanical assemblies for the Nuclear Industry.
The Production Planner is responsible for producing and maintaining an achievable internal production/manufacturing schedule and a forecasted future capacity plan that enables the full utilisation of remaining production/manufacturing capacity.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan project and sales order production activities based on manufacturing routings and project milestones.
- Plan future capacity requirements to meet forecasted future sales demand.
- Interface with Project teams to manage project requirements & changes.
- Promote the use of shop floor schedules in the form of work to lists to offer guidance on priority and sequence of work.
- Work towards further improvements in ontime in full delivery (OTIF) and manufacturing schedule adherence and the upkeep and enhancement of the advanced planning and scheduling software.
- Assist in the development and communicating of production KPI's and report upon exceptions.
- Continuous improvement tools and techniques to be utilised to ensure operational effectiveness.
Essential:
Planning and Scheduling experience and a manufacturing background, underpinned by a solid understanding of engineering principles, machine shop, fabrication and assembly processes and capabilities.
Ability to change and react when required along with previous experience in a planning role.
Excellent communication skills both written/oral. Ability to communicate in a brief and clearly expressed manner with employees from all levels of the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
HND/HNC or Higher Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in operations & working in a project managed environment.
Experience in using EFACS or similar MRP software systems.
This is a site based role 37.5 hrs/week Monday to Friday.
