You will be responsible for the management and development of a team of educators and anatomists to deliver excellent training using traditional methods alongside innovation and the development of cadaveric courses.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a vital member of the PMED Senior Team and will take responsibility and a lead role in driving the strategic development and delivery of multi-professional education and training for the healthcare professionals of today and the future.
In line with the Trusts Vision and Tomorrow's NUH plans the post holder will work with the Directors of Medical Education to lead, develop and deliver a high quality and innovative training programme that meets the needs of multi-professional learners and educators at Nottingham University Hospitals.
The post holder will lead a large, dynamic team of at least 20 staff including clinical skills, the national repository and the Resuscitation training team, and fulfil a pivotal role within the Postgraduate Medical Education Department (PMED).
The role will also link with other educational delivery groups in the Trust such as the Trent Simulation Centre, DREEAM, Undergraduate Medicine and Nursing and Midwifery.
There will also be significant opportunities to work with external stakeholders to co-design and develop training and education (e.g. Health Education England, Royal Colleges).The post holder will ensure effective leadership with PMED and have budgetary, governance and reporting responsibility. The postholder will also have overall responsibility for ensuring the training facilities are compliant with regulations and legislation.

The Postgraduate Medical Education Team at Nottingham University Hospitals is a dynamic and expanding department leading, planning, designing and delivering an annual programme of multi-professional training.
You will work closely with the Directors of Medical Education to provide strong strategic leadership for the Clinical Skills, National Repository and Resuscitation Training teams.
You will focus on ensuring high quality training is further developed and meets the required regularity legislation, standards and protocols.

Overall responsibility for the management, development and delivery of high quality clinical skills, cadaveric and resuscitation training and the development of effective and innovative learning environments.
Be responsible for the Clinical Skills, the National Repository and the Resuscitation Training budget setting, budget monitoring and for identifying and implementing opportunities to deliver cost improvements and generate income.
Work within allocated budgets and work with the Divisional Finance Manager and PMED Operations and Business Development Manager to ensure transparency of funding and appropriate use of resources.
Dealing with animal and human cadaveric material. Occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions e.g. body smells, body fluids and linen.
