This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Medicines Management Service in Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. The organisation has recently invested significantly in the team's expansion to reconfigure the way we deliver our service.

The Medicines Management team is well-established with a track record in delivering outcomes, our pharmacy support workers are key to ensuring this happens.

The service supports physical health, mental health and community care across a large geographical footprint.

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individuals to join our team of pharmacy support workers.

At present we have vacancies for permanent and bank positions in our replenishment, stores and dispensary services based at both Maghull Health Park and Hollins Park Hospital in Warrington.


Applications are invited from all individuals with experience working in pharmacy or services, including those who are community-based with no previous hospital experience.

  • To accurately and efficiently supply stock and dispensed medicines, including supply of compliance aids and patient information leaflets.
  • To follow up any outstanding orders for wards and service users on a daily basis.
  • To provide support for clinical trials and unlicensed medicines, including maintenance of stock and records, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • To be involved in the supply of clozapine to service users

This will include:
a) Dispensing of clozapine (including utilising compliance aids) in accordance with standard operating procedures.
b) Liaising with patients, the clozapine monitoring service, and clinical team regarding the appropriate supply of clozapine.
c) Receiving and processing of clozapine blood results.
d) Issue of medication to clients at clozapine clinic.
e) Organising the request and receipt of up to date clozapine prescriptions.
f) Answering telephone queries.
