  • This job is about the data It underpins the whole asset management system and must be reliable. To protect people and the environment we must make sound, evidencebased decisions about how we manage our assets.
We have recently launched a brand new Asset Information Management System, Operations and Maintenance (

AIMS:
OM) and your job will be to perfect the data in it.

We have migrated asset information from several legacy databases and combined it with manually entered data that is collected out on site.

This needs to be cleansed and checked for accuracy and consistency.
Your workload will be guided by a national Data Improvement Plan as well as local priority tasks.

You will become an expert in data and relied upon to spot patterns/recurring issues and make recommendations for future data quality improvements.

You will support the Water Land & Biodiversity (WLB) Asset Management Team with their data needs as well as working with other internal teams to source information not currently in

OM. This is largely a desk-based role but may involve occasional site visits and days at the office where we have archived, hard copy information that needs to be added to

  • This is a new team, created to consolidate and professionalize asset management activities for WLB.

You will report to the WLB Asset Management Team Leader, working closely with your counterparts in other areas, the National Asset Management Systems Team and local technical WLB teams e.g.

Hydrometry and Telemetry, Groundwater and Contaminated Land, Hydrology, Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology.

  • Experience/skills required
  • Essential:
  • Ability to collate, manipulate, interpret and report on different sources of data in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Deliver work by planning, gathering, tracking and maintaining data/information
  • Work under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes
  • Have an eye for detail, be efficient and able to persevere with repetitive tasks
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:

  • Experience in asset management.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 e.g Excel, Sharepoint, Teams
