What's the role?


As our I&C Project Co-ordinator you will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of timely Gas connections, by ensuring delivery of client services via field service personnel.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all communications between the end consumer, supplier and key stakeholders within SMS
  • Be involved in growing our market within the industry
  • Be at the heart of delivering our customer experience
  • Be involved in developing new business opportunities with existing clients


This role is crucial as it ensures a commercial income to SMS, whilst at the same time strengthening our relationships with both existing and new gas suppliers.

The Gas Connection teams also ensure additional recurring rental for installed gas assets whilst also growing our existing data management portfolio

You would be involved in liaising with the following internal SMS stakeholders on a regular basis;

  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Data Management
  • Smart backoffice support

Key responsibilities:


  • Answering and resolving customer enquiries and demonstrating ownership of the issue by using problem solving skills.
  • Proactively reviewing customer accounts when they call, to identify and resolve any future issues before they arise.
  • Taking the opportunity to promote and sell relevant products/service to each customer as appropriate.
  • Enhancing the overall customer relationship with SMS Connections
  • In delivering excellent customer service, you will need to:
Respond to queries raised by customers in a polite and friendly manner.

  • Investigate and resolve routine customer enquiries at first point of contact, ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service to our customers.
  • Identify opportunities where appropriate, to enhance the customer experience through accurately promoting and selling the benefits of our products and services.
  • Empathise with the customer where appropriate, and ensure the customer always feels valued.
Liaising with contractors on a daily basis, educating them of the importance of completion details.

  • Responsible for a specified region incorporating contractor and client relationships.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience of developing growing a book of clients
  • Delighting customers through strong relationship management

  • Relevant experience working in a customer service team environment
  • Relevant working experience in a customer facing role where keyboard skills have been utilised daily.
