Do you want to make a real difference to people's lives? Do you have experience of Waking Nights? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We have an exciting opportunity for a
Waking Nights Support Coach in our Homeless Provision based at Leicester Street, Southport.

The role is shift based, working 8pm till 8am with a 3 on 3 off rota, 40.25 hours per week.


New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation, we deliver a diverse range of homelessness projects and temporary housing solutions across Merseyside.

We aim to enhance lives by offering good quality accommodation with structured support.

The Role


You will be part of a team that delivers a strengths-based service, allowing each person who accesses the project to thrive and develop, gain greater independence, and succeed to a more permanent housing solution.

You will complete Health \& Safety checks and deal with any incidents that may occur through the evening.

You will oversee the safety of residents and crash bed users, as well as the security of the building.

You will undertake administrative tasks as requested by support workers or management.

You'll need to keep records of everything, so will have experience of updating case records and incident management.


You will be a confident person and will be required to lone work through the night, although you will have the support of an on-call manager.

You will understand the challenges vulnerable adults may face, around homelessness, mental health, substance abuse and offending - this could include having your own lived experience.

You will have demonstrable experience in a waking nights post, supporting outreach services or within a hostel setting.

You will have some experience of completing risk assessments and incident management/reports to a high standard.


Ideally, you will have:


You will have studied up to NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care or be working towards this qualification or be prepared to undertake if successful in the role.
