Sutton Winson Ltd, one of the UK's largest Independent Insurance Brokers, are seeking a Health & Protection Insurance Broker with a passion for people and customer service, to join their dynamic and successful Healthcare & Protection Team in Burgess Hill.

About the role


Our Healthcare & Protection Team specialise in providing tailored Health Insurance & Protection solutions to a broad range of individual clients in the UK.

This exciting opportunity will provide you with your own, extensive portfolio.

This is the perfect opportunity to continue or build a new career in the Health Insurance industry by managing client enquiries, building new business through warm leads e.g.

internal and external referrals. If you are completely client-centric, with a mature and professional outlook we are keen to speak to you.


On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Effectively manage your own portfolio of individual healthcare & protection clients inc. dealing with new business enquiries and renewals
  • Provide advice and support with claims and queries to your clients and insurers.
  • Discuss personal medical conditions and situations with clients.
  • Utilise the broking system (Acturis full training provided) to effectively manage administration, renewals & quotes.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and insurers and build your portfolio through warm leads and recommendations.

Skills & Experience


You'll be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries and, at times, you will discuss personal medical conditions and situations with clients.

It's therefore essential that you are able to communicate with care and empathy and, importantly, have good listening skills.


Must Haves:


  • Previous
    client handling experience within a finance or insurancebased role

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships

Effective, confident and considerate communication and an ability to adapt your communication style appropriately to your audience

  • Ability to demonstrate a mature outlook with

  • Organisation, accuracy and attention to detail

Intuitive thinking and strong decision making skills

A positive approach to learning, taking on board new concepts quickly and executing them with accuracy and diligence

IT confidence - experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook and, ideally Acturis (full training provided)


Ideal, but not essential:

Previous experience working within a Health & Protection Insurance environment with a good knowledge of Health Insurance & protection products

Experience of the Acturis system
