Description

Recognised by Ofsted as being a 'Good' provider of children's social care, there has never been a more exciting time to join Birmingham Children's Trust on its development journey.

Birmingham Children's Trust; Children Advice & Support Service (CASS) is the front door to the largest children's service department in the country.

It is playing its role in making the service thrive for excellence.

The service has learned a great deal from the pandemic and developed processes accordingly including hybrid working arrangements that sees workers enjoying the flexibility of moving between remote working from home and the office base.

We have developed technology to ensure we have seamlessly continued to provide an effective service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner based in CASS. The role of SP means you will alongside team managers lead on decision making around new families referred into BCT

We provide a consistent service working with a wide range of issues pertaining to children and their families who we work collaboratively with.

Our key role is to manage new referrals into the organisation. In CASS we have a well-established and consistent workforce across the four teams in this area of practice. Our Multi-Agency Safeguarding HUB (MASH) is also situated alongside CASS.

The hours of work are 08:45 until 17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 until 16:15 on a Friday, with an hour lunch break.

Most social workers in CASS have been in post for several years so there is a good level of knowledge & expertise, helping with the processes of new workers settling in.

We are looking for an enthusiastic social worker who ideally has experience in children and families.

The CASS environment gives the successful applicant the opportunity to be involved in crucial initiatives such as supporting student placements as part of our commitment towards enhancing social workers development and prioritising your CPD.

**Interviews to take place on 21 June 2023.
