We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to work for a rewarding Charity who provide practical help and personalised support through their education, housing and health and wellbeing services.


  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday
  • Friday 9am 5pm
  • Full driving license and car owner essential (mileage claimable)
- £17.21 per hour via Umbrella Company


This role will support service users (case of around 20) across properties who are vulnerable children and adult service users including those with substance misuse, domestic abuse, homeless background, asylum seekers, those involved with the criminal justice system and others with housing related support needs based in charity properties in the Sunderland and South Tyneside area.


This role will be providing support for service users offering a person centred support ensuring service users build confidence and independence as well as providing housing and property management solutions with the aim of achieving a successful move-on.


Typical tasks will include:

  • Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required.
  • Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned.
  • Ensure service users are getting access to the required support services.
  • Support residents to understand responsibilities that will help them keep their accommodation.
  • Empower and motivate service users to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop a moveon plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home.
  • Rate of pay £17.21per hour via a umbrella company
  • Ongoing temp contract with view of permanent role
  • Due to the nature of this role you will need to undergo an Enhanced DBS Adults and Childrens check.
