Description

The purpose of this new role is to lead the enhancement and development of our clients IT systems to create a platform for future growth.

Additionally, the Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for identifying and implementing innovative technologyenabling the company to establish and maintain a set of joined up, market leading products which will set the standard in our sector.

Finally, the Senior Solution Architect will be expected to contribute to the sales and new business process by representingthe company in technology discussions with prospects and customers.

An ability to engage at all levels within the business and across our customer base will be a role defining skill.

Support the IT director and create the technology architectural road map, identifying the business and commercial drivers and creating appropriate technological responses to make (and then keep) our technology offering best in class.
Work closely with Directors and the Senior Leadership Team in developing business strategy. Translation of the business strategy into a set of technology deliverables.
Work closely with our suppliers to maintain an up to date view of the functionality and limitations in their current and future product sets. Influence the development road maps of these suppliers to prioritise functionality which is useful and ensure thatthis functionality is delivered as a top priority.
Engage with developers of innovative technology, inside and outside the sector, and assess how their thinking could be applied to create opportunity for us in the short, medium and long terms.
Work in conjunction with the senior leadership in IT to ensure that both Service Delivery and Project Delivery are properly engaged in the strategic development of our technology platform.
Provide solution design support to underpin the successful delivery of the Technology, Operational and Commercial elements of all projects. This means both ensuring that the projects deliver in line with the architectural road map, and also offering practicaladvice to ensure that projects deliver quickly and that customer expectations are exceeded.
Ensure that the technical components and architecture which deliver IT systems and services are accurately documented and then maintained after change.
Define and maintain technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
Keeping informed about the latest threats, security standards, patching and other forms of response based on information security standards. Ensure that our suppliers and partners are implementing appropriate information security standards to protect thecompany from risk.

Experience:

Experienced in design, management and support of complex architectural models and technology platform governance.
Experience in design, establishment of systems and business processes.
Experience of transforming technology environments to create market leading products and services.
Experience of working with legacy technology estates and evolving them into stateoftheart environments. This will also include simplification and standardisation of technology, virtualisation, centralisation, consolidation of distributed services, designfor resilience and platform governance.
Experienced in technology vendor management and vendor negotiation for IT services including cost to serve, service levels, vendor performance management, and management of offshore development processes.
Experience of working in a highly outsourced technology environment.
Experienced at defining and managing to agree budgets but also able to develop commercial proposals based on appropriate EBITDA criteria.
