Job description

Job Purpose:

To provide holistic child centred learning and creative experiences in the natural environment.

To promote and foster resilient and independent learners who respect the environment and learn to problem solve and manage risk.

To work as part of a team to maintain Forest School site sustainably through a deep understanding of biodiversity and respect for the local and wider community.


Areas of responsibility:


  • To work as part of a team to provide a wide range of learning opportunities with support from the senior team.
  • To plan and prepare purposeful learning using innovative approaches with the support of the forest School Leader
  • Encourage children to explore and experiment in the outdoors and manage risk safely
  • To support the team around you to teach the children about sustainability and respect for the world around them; to foster curiosity
  • Ensure that both staff and children care for and maintain their environment
  • To be aware of and comply with all Rainbow Day Nurseries' policies and procedures
  • To participate in training and other learning activities/meetings as required
  • To administer basic first aid as the need arises.

Personal specification:


  • Ability to plan and deliver environmental education based activities to a wide age range of children.
  • First aid trained by the start of the fixed term contract
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to disseminate information to a variety of audiences
  • A strong team working ethos and ability to work collaboratively with all staff
  • Full and relevant Early Years' qualification
  • To participate in training and other learning activities/meetings as required
  • Hold an appropriate first aid qualification

DBS clearance

Salary:
£21,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
