An international trading house based in the City seeks an experienced Financial Controller to join their Accounting Department.


In this role you will be responsible for delivering efficient and effective accounting services for the company and branch offices in accordance with company policies and procedures.


You will support the Department General Manager (DGM) in the delivery of business partnering initiatives across EMEA&CIS as and when required under the 'Joint and Several' concept.


TYPE:
Permanent, full-time


WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday


SALARY:
£52-78K depending on experience, plus good benefits


START:
Ideally late Feb / March 2023 (TBC)


LOCATION:
London (Currently Hybrid working style)


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage a team of four direct reports and 5 indirect reports
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements, primarily responsible for review and sign off of 13 'SAP' entities
  • Review monthly packs for trading entities within the Group
  • Oversee outsourced accounting services provided for European Regional Offices including management of key relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop and monitor appropriate internal controls to ensure conformance and compliance with their policies and J-SOX
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors and play a key role in the complex annual external and internal audit requirements
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
  • Support the business and logistics departments in the preparation and execution of the annual stock take and follow up
  • Proactively support FX position reporting to the Treasury Team
  • Proactively manage Intercompany/Group reconciliations
  • Provide guidance and support to business departments and regional corporate departments as required
  • Responsible for the management and development of the accounting team
  • Play a key leadership role in wider accounting function to improve collaboration within Accounting function

IDEAL CANDIDATE:


  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
  • Minimum 5 years Post-Qualified Experience (ideally c.10year mark)
  • Experience with SAP would be highly regarded
  • Work experience in a global company and familiar with a control environment such as SOX/JSOX will be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to initiate action, provide direction and take responsibility
  • Motivates and empowers others
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive, confident and resourceful when navigating through ambiguity
  • Clear analytical thinker, with the ability to solve complex problems and issues
  • MS Office with Advanced Excel skills
  • Business level of fluency in English
