The Brand and Marketing team exists to increase the visibility of the Forces Employment Charity. The team promotes our vision of a UK where all veterans and their partners lead fulfilling working lives.


The primary responsibility of the Marketing Manager is to manage a team of Communications Officers while supporting the Head of Brand and Marketing to develop and deliver marketing plans and campaigns, advising on the most effective channels for deliveryand proposing ways of enhancing the Forces Employment Charity's presence.


? Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead, manage, develop and motivate three Communication Officers, providing challenge and thought leadership.
  • Deliver an ongoing Social Media strategy, which will maintain and optimise the Forces Employment Charity's online presence, enhancing the charity's profile amongst its target audience
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new marketing initiatives to raise awareness of the Forces Employment Charity and our specialist employment support programmes
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of the Forces Employment Charity's online presence, including web, social media and other online channels
  • Ensure that all online content remains up to date, relevant, consistent and engaging, providing training and guidance to other staff members involved in posting content
  • Own key stakeholder relationships with the Executive Service team and Events team; playing an active role in working groups, representing the marketing and brand team.
  • Contribute to the creation of online and offline content, including written and still/motion graphics.
  • Schedule content on the Forces Employment Charity's social media channels (currently Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) using content management software.
  • Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, funders and employers to ensure all communication opportunities are maximised
  • Elevate the role of the Brand and Marketing team within the Forces Employment Charity. Demonstrating the impact of the Brand and Marketing team through relevant measurement and reporting.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Competencies:


  • Significant marketing experience, including marketing strategy; campaign planning and execution across the full marketing mix.
  • People management and creative leadership, with the ability to identify big ideas that will deliver effective and engaging content and activations across different platforms and to a range of diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage daytoday delivery alongside longer timeframe development projects.
  • Proven experience of managing digital projects to enhance online capabilities, across web, social and paid advertising
  • Confident, selfmotivated and proactive with the ability to use initiative and take responsibility for developing and implementing plans.
  • Possess tact, diplomacy and have the ability to communicate at all levels both within an organisation and with external agencies and partners.
  • Excellent knowledge of web and digital services development and management, including content generation, SEO, paidfor campaigns and API.
  • Excellent knowledge of WordPress, social media platforms, design software including Indesign, Photoshop and Canva is essential.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Good level of knowledge of capturing, editing and utilising video and other material.
  • Strong communicator with excellent internal and external relationship building skills.

  • Desirable Competences:
  • Experience of working within a charity
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • A good working knowledge of the UK Armed Forces
