Here at the Laurus Trust we are able to provide a cutting-edge SEND provision that has a positive impact on our young people, and we are currently looking to recruit caring and dedicated individuals to join our SEND team.

You will play a vital role in enhancing students' progress whilst promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.


We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed SEND Lead to join the team at Cheadle Hulme High School.

The role will involve collaborating with the SENDCo to ensure that provision for students with special educational needs and/or disability is efficiently and effectively managed.

You will become a key member of the Laurus Trust family, and will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust.

This position is contracted on a Term Time Only basis.

This means you will mainly work when the school is open to students and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.


Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please see the Job Description attached below)

  • Lead on some aspects of the provision for students with SEND across the school. Respond to the needs of these students as a main point of contact for teachers, parents/carers and students.
  • Support all staff across the school to ensure that the needs of students with SEND are well understood and that everyone fulfils their statutory responsibilities.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Sound educational background including GCSE's in Maths and English (A*C) or equivalent
  • Relevant training/post graduate study in child development, SEND or Education is essential
  • Experience of supporting other professionals develop their skills and knowledge in relation to SEND
