Applications are open for this innovative 12 month post based mainly within the Intensive Care Unit at Ninewells Hospital Dundee.

There are four posts available. Commencing 7th August 2024, successful applicants will have the opportunity to spend their development time in a variety of ways

These posts would be suitable for those who have completed an ACCS or Core training programme.

Applications will also be accepted by those who have completed foundation training and who wish to explore a critical care career path.

Doctors within this role will be expected to participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and the ongoing care of the critically ill patient.

The opportunity to be supervised in the assessment of patients in the Emergency Department and the hospital wards who require Critical Care input will also be available.

If appointed you will provide out of hours on-call commitments to the critical care rota.

Out of hours and at weekends you will be one of two residents providing cover for the Critical care units with a senior trainee from anaesthesia or intensive care providing on site support and supervision.

There is dedicated critical care consultant cover 24hrs a day and 7 days a week.

Whilst this post does not have a study leave budget we have previously been able to financially support educational activity and courses relevant to the post.

The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
