Description
Ambient People is recruiting interim financial audit resource for a local authority based in central England.

You will join an independent assurance function in leading on a comprehensive financial audit of all trading subsidiaries.

With data being held in a multitude of different systems, you will be tasked with analysing and interpreting complex financial datafrom a variety of sources to overcome issues and deliver robust audit reports.


As such, you will use demonstrably strong audit, control, and governance experience to provide assurance to council officers that accounting codes of practice are being adhered to and that resources are being utilised effectively.


Whilst reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, this is a purely financial audit role and as a result ideally suits somebody with an external audit background or with extensive knowledge of local authority audit or subsidiary accounting.

Some travel to the Midlands will be required though this will be a predominantly home-based role. The office is commutable within an hour from London.
