Job Overview:

Senior Supervisor - Northern Ireland Reserve Forces & Cadets Association ( NIRFCA )


We are seeking a Senior Supervisor to
take responsibility for the effective management and timely delivery of all Mitie contractual outputs.

The Senior Supervisor will ensure that all statutory, mandatory and reactive performance indicators are consistently achieved within their area of responsibility.

The position will be based in Thiepval Barracks and will report directly to the Mitie NIRFCA Contract Manager


Main Duties

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Oversee the effective, compliant and timely delivery of maintenance and response works in accordance with statutory legislation and MoD Mandatory requirements, complying with all Health and Safety and Environmental standards and policies.
  • Manage all KPI measures and ensure they are delivered within agreed time scales
  • Proactively manage all works through motivation, driving excellence through clear and effective direction, delegation and sound decision making.
  • Manage the statutory and mandatory compliance of assets and where this is not possible provide technical support to HoE and end users for the management and mitigation of risk.
  • Monitor Supply Chain service delivery, value for money, quality and safe working to ensure all performance indicators are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure all tasks are recorded against the appropriate assets in the CAFM system, including work in progress and completed job inspections, and ensure all documentation relating to maintenance and response works is completed, recorded and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure, as far as reasonably practical, that all persons on site observe the requirements of JSP 375, work closely with the Mobile Authorised Persons team to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Asbestos Registers and Management plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Legionella management plans.
  • Agreeing scope and priorities of work.
  • Supply chain performance management.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Commercial acumen and awareness.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with customer at all levels.

What we are looking for:


Essential Skills:


  • Demonstrable experience of managing works in a Property/Facilities Maintenance or related field including:
  • Management of the operational delivery of Estate Management tasks.
  • Leading an operational team to achieve KPIs.
  • Planning, directing and controlling activities.
  • Ability to delegate, prioritise and manage time effectively.

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Ensure supply chain performance is monitored and regular meetings are held to discuss delivery performance against contracted KPIs.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Security and Fraud Policies and Procedures.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety and Sustainability Policies and Procedures pertaining to the job role.
  • Support all business safety initiatives.
  • Comply with the Organisation's Equality and Diversity Policy.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Company values.
  • Carry out any other duty commensurate with the position

Desirable Skills:


  • Significant practical experience in Property/Facilities Maintenance or related field.
  • Experience of operating in an MOD environment.
  • Working knowledge of CDM (Construction, Design & Management) regulations.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualified
  • Experience of the Asbestos at Work Act, Equality at Work, energy performance, Sustainability etc.
  • Familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility.
