Role Overview:

Part of a small team of stores personnel.

The Storesperson will be able to demonstrate their ability to improve stock accuracy and thereby reduce stockouts and eliminate major stock takes.

This position forms an integral part of the Engineering team.


Job Role:


  • Goods Receiving and issuing of coded and noncoded items.
  • Maintain and improve stock accuracy.
  • Identify obsolete items.
  • Maintain vending machine, adding new items, personnel, to keep up with demand.
  • Liaising with Engineers and Purchasing on any discrepancies with delivered items.
  • Collating spares for Engineering and Maintenance planned outages.
  • Running various reports on stocks for Engineers, when needed.
  • Raising job notifications for maintenance work.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Department.
  • Stock outs eliminate those attributable to stock inaccuracies.
  • Accuracy of perpetual stock check (aim to eliminate need to hold annual stock check).
  • Maintain Stock Turns.
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the Engineering Stores, ensuring area is free from health & safety hazards.
  • Conducting rolling stock takes.
  • Reducing repair costs.
  • Liaising with vendors on stock items and lead times.
  • Reducing stores stock
  • Completing preventative maintenance work sheets when required, ensuring 100% compliance is achieved

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:


  • FLT Licence.
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
  • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
  • Good attention to detail, a flexible attitude to tasks and able to use your own initiative.
  • High energy level and able to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent understanding of best practice Stores procedures.
  • Computer literate in a Stores computerised system (SAP would be an advantage) and MS Office Suite.
  • Self
- motivated with a positive CAN DO ATTITUDE.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Stores: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
