Assistant Management Accountant


Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire our leading client are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.


This job would suit an AAT qualified, or equivalent, accountant to support the management accounts team within the finance department.

The team is made up of 3 individuals and will give a full range of exposure to management accounts, including being involvedin month end closing meetings with the Finance Director.


The business has gone from strength to strength with over 100 sites across the UK and is looking to expand further in the coming years.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily postings of bank payments into the finance system.
  • Raising bank payments in the online banking system.
  • Analysis of various 'owned' P&L lines in the accounts on a monthly basis. Including, but not exclusive to, Utilities, Rates and IT spend.
  • Ensuring monthly prepayments and accruals are recorded.
  • Reallocation of transactions.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Various Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Posting\importing of journals into the finance system.
  • Meeting month end deadlines.
  • Monthly sales VAT reconciliations.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns.
