Reed Education is currently working with a coeducational Church of England secondary school and sixth form located in Bath, Somerset, England.

They are seeking a cleaner/caretaker to join them on a permanent and full time basis, with an annual salary offering of £22369 and £23620.

You will be part of a small on-site service delivery team providing routine and ad-hoc cleaning services to all areas of the site.

Ensuring hygiene levels are maintained is an important part of site safety across all communal areas.

This position will alsohold further site management duties, and you will be expected to support with general maintenance issues as well as being responsible for site security and some minor handyman duties.

The hours of work will be 12pm - 8pm, covering the middle shift to support the team in keeping on top of all cleaning and maintenance duties before, after and during the school day.

With a positive 'can do' attitude, you get stuck in to every task With excellent time management, you will work efficiently as part of the caretaking team as well as individually.


Responsibilities:


  • Cleaning duties around the school toilets, floors, classrooms etc
  • Setting the priorities for maintenance and repairs
  • Carrying out basic repairs
  • Managing access to the premises and maintaining security
  • Strict adherence health and safety around the school, and supervising external contractors
  • Unlocking & Locking the building, setting and unsetting alarms.
  • Ensuring all cardboard and rubbish is cleared and in the relevant bins provided.
  • Brushing and mopping the areas, ensuring all spaces are clean & tidy.
If you have previously worked within a commercial cleaning environment then this would be an advantage, however we are happy to offer full training in the role if you can demonstrate:

  • Ability to work to defined standards in a quality driven environment
  • Good communication skills, capable of building relationships with colleagues, clients and members of the public
  • Comfortable working independently to your own initiative as well as being part of a team
  • Good attention to detail, able to deliver a high level of customer service
