Location:
Remote + some travel to Offices in Birmingham and Edinburgh


Salary:
£75-80K + Bonus & Benefits


IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS

Key Responsibilities:


  • Reporting directly to the MD, you will be responsible for leading the R&D team covering technical leadership, strategy, product direction, development best practice, devops practice and compliance
  • To leverage internal or 3rd party resources to deliver against expectation of all interested stakeholders
  • Cooordinate delivery of key technical projects within the company
  • Understand the potential benefits of different types of team model, utilising local, near shore and off shore resources where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with all senior managers within the company and cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing, improvement and assistance across the company
  • Lead strategic engineering, infrastructure and technology vision that creates and maintains a roadmap to deliver sustainable software for the future
  • Develop and implement a fit for purpose compliance framework for products and services offered by the company, taking into account any regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and managing risks associated with the delivery of companies products and services.
  • Keep abreast of regularity developments within or outside of the Company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Understand how the products and services delivered by the company are used by the companies' customers and lead the technical direction for those products.
  • Work alongside Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure that proposed solutions are designed with the customer in mind and are delivered to a highquality standard.
  • Lead the R&D team and foster a culture of empowerment which encourages people to take personal ownership and accountability for their contributions.
  • To support the business in the awareness of current and future technology trends
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are being followed, reporting on exceptions and advising plan of action to rectify.
  • Negotiate service level agreements with both internal and external partners and monitor service delivery to ensure the agreed targets and standards are met
  • Direct the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to information, online payment and software systems
  • Define and drive software solutions strategy and technical development architecture across the organisation in support of the company's mission and core objectives
  • Ensure development is in line with market requirements, bringing a very strong commercial focus to the role, including resource management and monitoring of competitive activities
  • Monitor team performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed board level reports, both current and forecasting
  • Develop a learning, researching and evaluating culture for new technologies within the team

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Worked at a Senior Executive Level for a minimum of 3 years
  • Proven track record in the Management of R&D Teams
  • Ability to demonstrate and articulate software development concepts to a leadership team audience
  • Demonstrable evidence of an understanding of privacy and compliance legislation in the UK and Europe, including the GDPR
  • Experience in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Competent user of MS office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
