Permanent Position

Skilled Operative Nottingham, NG9


We are looking for a skilled operative who will carry out various furniture services / duties including: receiving, preparing, delivering, installing, assembling and organising furniture and managing associated waste, while completing the relevant administrative duties.

They will maintain the good working order of the warehouse and make suitable vehicle checks. It is essential the skilled operative establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with our customers.


Primary Job Duties:


  • Accepting deliveries into warehouses
  • Vans are loaded, driven and parked within legal regulations
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report and faults/repairs. Return the paperwork to the office
  • Collecting and delivering goods/products for site
  • Transporting goods / products to the customer
  • Loading and unloading of suppliers / own vehicles by hand or forklift
  • Placing/storing of goods/products in the correct storage area
  • Assemble or disassemble furniture on site or in the warehouse
  • Removal and separation of materials (rubbish/cardboard/packaging) on site and in the warehouse
  • Stacking of empty palettes
  • Maintain good working order of warehouse units
  • Checking orders against paperwork prior to departure from the warehouse, prior to delivery and signed when delivered.
  • Carry out repairs to furniture/accessories
  • Responsibility for the upkeep of tools, all equipment and PPE supplied
  • Overnight stays (when required)
  • Possible weekend work (when required)
  • Flexible with overtime

Additional skills and qualifications:


  • Able to lift and carry goods
  • Full Driving License
  • Commercial Van Driving Experience
Preferable but not essential

  • Experience in Furniture installation
  • General site experience
  • CSCS Card
  • Forklift Licence

Hours & Pay:


  • Mon to Fri
  • Usual start time around 8am however some earlier start times may be required if the delivery needs to be by 8am

£23,000 Basic Salary based on a 40 hour basic week with overtime as required
