As the Clinical Governance Facilitator you will be responsible for delivering the effective management of governance activity for the directorate including managing complaints, supporting incident investigations and risk management.

This will include promoting and contributing to high quality clinical governance in the service management teams and providing advice and support to clinicians.

You will be joining a dynamic directorate team and will also be working with colleagues across the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Group.

The post holder will co-ordinate the Clinical Governance agenda within the Surgical Oncology Directorate.

This covers those systems and processes for assessing, monitoring and improving services, including patient and public involvement, risk management, patient safety, clinical audit, quality improvement programmes, staff involvement, education and training, and the use of information, including guidelines and patient information.

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK's best known hospitals - Guy's, St Thomas', Evelina London Children's Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield - as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.

Patients are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on ensuring the best possible patient experience as well as safe, high quality care.

We are proud to have one of the lowest mortality rates in the NHS. Following a comprehensive Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in 2019 we maintained our overall rating of 'good'. Our adult community services achieved a rating of 'outstanding'.

The commitment of our over 22,700 staff is key to our success.

We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care.

The 2019 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS.

We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

The post holder will provide multidisciplinary clinical staff with the support to implement effectively the principles and practice of clinical governance and quality improvement across the Directorate, within a framework that uses information to guide reflection, leading to action and outcomes monitoring.

The post holder will work closely with the central clinical governance team to deliver Trust approved work programmes.
