Salary:
£22,500 - £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities / Daily Activities

  • Providing regular insights relevant to tourism and investment.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the destination and organisational KPI's of NGI.
  • Designing, running, analysing and reporting on a range of surveys for NGI and NGI's research consultancy clients.
  • Desk research for NGI and NGI's research consultancy clients.
  • Management of T-Stats, the destination performance management system, including data collection, recruitment of businesses to the system and identification of new measures for the system.
  • Leading on the collation of data for annual volume and value of tourism surveys.
  • Maintaining the tourism investment monitor with uptodate local, regional and national tourism investments.
  • Handling of research enquiries from internal staff, partners and the general public.
  • Assisting with information sharing and joint working with NGI's partners on a local, regional and national level.
  • Other support as needed to enable the successful delivery of NGI's tourism, investment and corporate programmes.

Essential Skills and Experience
Educated to degree level or relevant experience.

1-2 years' experience in a market research role.

An understanding of research methods.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Strong written communication skills including writing reports.

Excellent analytical skills.

Highly literate and numerate.

Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.

High standard of organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.


Desirable Experience
Experience working within a research agency.

Understanding of the tourism industry in NewcastleGateshead and North East England
