Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Camden, London.

This is a rare opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs, to have asignificant impact on the life of a child with Autism in a reception class.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide personalized support to a child with Autism in a reception class
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a tailored education plan for the child
  • Assist with educational and therapeutic activities that are designed to meet the child's unique needs and abilities
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for the child and their peers
  • Record and track the child's progress, wellbeing, and any relevant information to support their growth and development
  • Offer assistance with personal care as required, including toileting and feeding
  • Encourage the child's integration with their classmates and the wider school community
  • Salary: £85£95 per day

Requirements:


  • Eexperience working with children with Autism or similar special needs
  • A thorough understanding of Autism and its effects on learning and development, as well as current best practices in supporting children with the condition
  • The ability to form strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, and to communicate effectively with all parties involved
  • A proactive and solutionfocused approach, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work as part of a team and go the extra mile to support the child's needs
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Teaching Assistant or Special Needs Support Worker certificate, is desirable but not essential
